About Mercy Neighborhood Minsitries
For more than a quarter century, the Sisters of Mercy have been a positive influence on the at-risk neighborhoods of North Philadelphia. In 2003, Mercy Neighborhood Ministries of Philadelphia Inc. was officially incorporated as a non-profit organization to serve the families in Tioga, a neighborhood that is financially, socially and spiritually stressed.
Our programs include child care, adult day care and adult education and human development services.
All of the money raised form our events will support the renovations to Mercy Family Center.
In 2005, we purchased an old warehouse located approximately 1 ½ blocks from our current site. The building will provide 32,696 square feet of space and will house all of our programs in one building. We are renovating the building following LEED protocols and will be the first renovated "green" building in North Philadelphia.
With the completion of Mercy Family Center, MNM will expand its services to meet the growing critical needs of the community of Tioga.
