Location: Tajiguas Beach Turn-out
From Ventura - proceed north on Hwy 101 North (west) past Refugio Beach State Park exit. Proceed 2.5 miles then at first left turn, make a U-turn to head southbound for 0.3 miles. We will meet at the long parking area on the southside of the highway.
Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Access Rating: Dirt trail along cliff to beach - Sturdy shoes and strong legs/back for hike back up (might be challenging for some less mobility-abled persons)
Parking: Gravel turn-out, Plenty
Collecting: Interesting beach tumbled stones (agate, jasper, fossil-bearing siltstone), Petrified whale bone (late Miocene, genus Mixocetus or Norrisanima)
Tools: Sun hat, Snacks, Drinking water, Walking shoes, Bucket, Canvas bags, Garden claw or Trowel, Light jacket
