Tools: Lunch/snacks in a small cooler, drinking water, hiking shoes, sunhat, sunscreen, buckets/backpack for your rocks, garden claw, rock hammer, shovel, sledge, chisels.

There will be hiking up steep inclines, this trip may be difficult for mobility impaired persons. We plan to be digging at some of the collecting areas. We will be accessing Lavic Sifing for some classic variegated jaspers and agates. High clearance vehicle recommended, 4x4 would be ideal, as there are sandy areas.

Suggest you consider arriving to the area on Friday night, as it’s a long drive. There are inexpensive hotels in Barstow for those who want to get there Friday night. Ventura is 3-1/2 hours from the meeting place. Barstow is approximately 30 minutes from the rendezvous. We will be meeting at 9am at the Northwest corner of Hector Road and Route 66, just south of 1-40. There will be no bathrooms at either of the collecting locations. Carpooling options are available, let us know if you need a ride and we can try to accommodate.
